BEAUTIFUL 1917 WW I Silk Embroidered Souvenir Postcard Greeting Card from France

Antique Silk embroidered postcard which usually carried messages from soldiers at the front to their loved-ones back home. This is a beautiful card style with its original message.

During the First World War families waited desperately for news from the front, soldiers for special occasions such as birthdays anniversaries etc sent these ‘French’ souvenirs back home. Interestingly these postcards were mostly embroidered by French women in their homes, and then sent to factories for cutting and mounting. This card has one age spot on the paper front, the embroidered silk is fine. 

This lovely postcard  has a tissue box worthy sentimental message inside for Christmas 1917 , so romantic and endearing! A beautiful  piece of history to display and add to your collection of antique postcards!
