Antique Silk embroidered postcard which usually carried messages from soldiers at the front to their loved-ones back home. This is a beautiful envelope style with its original enclosure little card.
During the First World War families waited desperately for news from the front, soldiers for special occasions such as birthdays anniversaries etc sent these ‘French’ souvenirs back home. Interestingly these postcards were mostly embroidered by French women in their homes, and then sent to factories for cutting and mounting.
This lovely postcard has a tissue box worthy sentimental message on back , so romantic and endearing! A beautiful piece of history to display and add to your collection of antique postcards!
