GORGEOUS Antique Ring EGYPTIAN SCARAB Ring Porcelain and Gold ,Hieroglyphics Egyptian Revival Vintage Blue Green Beetle Jewelry,Collectible
MESMERIZING antique ring, a gorgeous shade of blue-green porcelain in form of a scarab ring from about the 1910-20s.
The dazzling ring is an exceptional representation of Egyptian Revival, a style that flourished in the early 1900s and continued into the Art Deco 1920s and beyond becoming a source of inspiration in numerous design mediums throughout the 20th century.
This beautiful unique ring has a lovely high setting in what tested to be a 9 ct gold (English gold). The style of the setting truly lets the scarab stand out.
The scarab is a mottled shade of blue green, similar to teal or turquoise and shows intricate detail. The under-side remains open so you can see the hieroglyphics carved on the bottom of the scarab.
The condition is wonderful, a bit of wear on the scarab, but it's barely noticeable. We are pleased to say that the ring remains in outstanding vintage condition.
It is so unusual and of obvious quality, an example of Extra Special Jewelry.
The dung beetle, Scarabaeus Sacer, was thought by the ancient Egyptians to represent the sun.
The symbol of the god Khepera rolled the ball of the sun across the sky to "rebirth" every morning. To them, the scarab represented new life, resurrection and rebirth.
What an intriguing conversation ring! Beautiful for that someone special, or buy it for yourself and enjoy wearing it and displaying.
